InGenius! offers a carefully curated collection of PNW-made fine art; stone and wood sculpture; jewelry including beadwork; glass art; pottery; leatherwork; fiber arts; Hall Crystal Flutes; and an extensive selection of one-of-a-kind and hyperlocal gift items like local raw honey from the foothills beyond town.

Located in the heart of Yelm across from Yelm City Park with its seasonal Saturday Farmers Market, Splash Pad water feature, and beautiful playground, InGenius! welcomes shoppers and visitors of all ages.

We offer classes of all kinds for kids and adults, from the expected like drawing and painting to the unexpected like beading and Irish whistle playing.

If you’re travelling with kids and want to immerse yourself in our relaxing, eclectic space, which we encourage, let the kids burn some energy across the street at Yelm City Park or at the skatepark next door while the adults take turns enjoying InGenius! For alternatives to outdoor activities, consider a movie at Yelm Cinemas up the street, Prairie Lanes Bowling around the corner, A Novel Bookstore and the newly expanded Fun Time Toys and gaming room just a few steps away.

Throughout the year Yelm hosts many festivals at Yelm City Park: Jazz in the Park, Nisqually Barbeque Rally, Music Fest, and Mermaid Festival, with more events added every year. All are watched over by our beloved historic Yelm Water Tower, recently refurbished and decked out with an after-dark light show.

How to Find Us

InGenius! sits on Rt. 507 along the Thurston Bountiful Byway. We’re one of many great places to see in an area that's becoming a destination for couples and families wanting to find the perfect low-key rural escape that’s still off the beaten path.

Surrounded by scenic pastures and forests, Yelm has great restaurants for many tastes; clothing and gift shops; nature escapes; and family-friendly activities like a local alpaca farm Tahoma Vista Fiber Mill with farm tours and a store. There are wonderful lodging options like Conley Suites Bed & Breakfast within walking distance of InGenius!; Prairie Hotel just a short drive through town; and the Deschutes River getaway Sacred Solar Sanctuary with the Solara Tiny Home and Helios Tranquil Cottage.

As you travel the Thurston Bountiful Byway (State Route 510) from Lacey toward Mt. Rainier, you’ll enter Yelm. At the colorful Gateway to Mt. Rainier mural, which calls attention to Yelm’s early history, take a right onto 507 South. InGenius! is located on your right, just beyond the Skate Park at 207 1st Street South.
