Axis Meads

Axis Meads crafts delicious, quality, small batch meads. Located in Lacey, Washington in the Producers District, the tasting room features a variety of meads from traditional to fruit flavored. They are open to the public on Saturdays from 2pm to 5pm. Stop in for a taste and say hello!

Axis Meads Owner and Founder, Dave Ross, was introduced to the mead making process while homebrewing with a friend. Soon after he was creating three-gallon stove-top batches at home. In 2010, Dave and partner Kriste Henderson opened the Skep & Skein Tavern in West Olympia. The tavern afforded Dave the perfect vehicle to begin creating and sharing meads with patrons. Limited to 25 gallon batches, Skep & Skein meads couldn’t keep up with demand, and so in 2016 work on Axis Meads began. Then, in December of 2017 the first batch of “Axial Tilt” was produced on the first day of winter.
