Overview
Wagner’s European Bakery & Café has been a bakery and landmark in Downtown Olympia since 1938. In 1964, Rudy and Linda Wagner purchased the bakery and have operated the family business as Wagner’s European Bakery & Café ever since. Through the years, Wagner’s Bakery has employed four generations of the Wagner Family. Todd Wagner is currently at the helm of Wagner’s Bakery. Many events and commissions have contributed to Wagner’s history such as being selected by the governor’s office to create cakes for both the Washington State Centennial and the National Bicentennial. In 1984, Wagner’s Bakery was chosen by the Olympic Committee to design and present a cake at the beginning of the women’s Olympic marathon trials. Recognition and awards include Modern Baking Leadership Award, Best Bakery of the South Sound, Best Bakery of Western Washington, Best Weddings from The Knot, Outstanding Employer from Morningside Industries, as well as countless local honors.
