The Leonor R. Fuller Gallery is excited to host the Emerging Curator Exhibition, 21st Century PoP, curated by China Faith Star. The exhibition will be held from Feb. 24 to March 28, 2025. The opening reception will be held on Friday, Feb. 28 at 6 p.m.
In this exhibition, guest emerging curator and Olympia resident, China Faith Star, highlights regional artists working in the context of 21st-century Pop Art. With irony no longer being the main message in contemporary art, it is absorbed instead with a new Pop that is more soul-searching and universal. Contemporary Pop artists, their methods of interpretation, production of art, and their stylistic and medium choices are as diverse within the movement as the movement itself and are distinctly other than its contemporary styles. Each artist’s work is curated based on both its distinctive theoretical relevancy to 21st-century Pop Art and the visual cohesion of the overall exhibit.
